  French couturier Pierre Balmain grew up in a home surrounded by fashion. His father owned a wholesale drapery business while his mother and sisters operated a fashion boutique. While on the path of studying architecture, he found himself sketching dresses which lead him to drop his studies and presue his true calling of fashion. Christian Dior,Balmain and Cristobal Balenciaga were all the heavy weaights after World War II. Balmains lines were elegant, feminine and graceful, but since Balmain’s death, his label has changed with the times to being more hip and trendy. Current designer Christophe Decarnin has given the house’s look an rough and tough edge which has caught on with Hollywood's party girls. Balmain's owner, Alain Hivelin, said sales had doubled since Christophe Decarnin was appointed in 2005. Balmain jackets are filled with glitz and glam. These beautiful jackets fetch over 10,000 but have been on sale for 6K. They are very very pricey. If you can afford it, go for it. If you cannot, don't worry, there are dozens of other lines with glam for fractions of the price of these beauties.

  BB Dakota is a new hip clothing company which only opened its doors a few years ago and already has catapulted into the fashion spot light. Since 2005, the company has shown itself to be a young, hip and glamorous line of fabulous clothes. Founder Gloria Brandes brings a unique French edge to the clothes that she creates. Not even knowing about the jacket appearing in the movie, "It was a tsunami of demand," said Gloria Brandes. "I think ours was the most significant clothing item of this first film." she goes on to say. She is right, her line of clothes is quite striking. "We try to make great fashion more accessible." BB Dakota is now available in better department stores and specialty boutiques across the globe.

  There really is nothing better for your wardrobe than a perfetly tailored military jacket. More ornate jackets such as the famous look by Michael Jackson can be stunning with crystal accents and metallic piping.   Brothers Georges, Armand, Paul, and Maurice Marciano moved from the South of France to California in the late 1970’s and they brought with them a sophisticated European flare to design with them. With the backing of the Nakash family, owners of the Jordache denim empire, they began building their business on "designer" jeans. Their name began to take off when Bloomingdale’s agreed to sell two dozen pairs of jeans, which sold out instantly. Their iconic black-and-white advertising campaigns began in 1982 featuring some of the most famous celebrities such as Anna Nicole Smith, Paris Hilton, Claudia Schiffer, Eva Herzigova, Laetitia Casta, Valeri Mazza, Alessandra Ambrosio, Carla Bruni and Sophia Loren. Guess celebrated its 25th year anniversary in 2006. Within this period, they launched several different brands including the original Guess?, Guess by Marciano, G by Guess, Baby Guess, Marciano for men, GC watch collection, Guess? Perfume and Guess Home. It continues to dress women according to Paul’s idea of perfection: “a strong personality but at the same time sensual and feminine”.

  It is known that the Beatles have been one of the most popular bands in history. According to the RIAA certifications, The Beatles have sold more albums in the US than any other artist. The group formed in 1960, originally from Liverpool consisted of John Lennon, who played guitar, Paul McCartney, who played bass guitar, George Harrison who was their lead guitarist, and Ringo Starr who was their drummer.
Professional reviews consider the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Album a masterpiece. Their clothes and style made them trend-setters. Lonely Hearts Club Band was this album that sparked popularity in band jackets, and the trend has lasted over the years.
Today the Beatles are as popular as ever. In September 2009 a new remastered Beatles catalog was available sparking new interest in the beatles once again. Included in the album is 14 Discs featuring 16 Releases with Bonus material.
Within each CD, are detailed historical notes along with informative recording notes. The documentaries contain rare photographs and never-before-heard studio chat from The Beatles, offering a unique look into the studio atmosphere. In the first book, contains 200 pages of the Beatles’ LP artwork , and all The Beatles albums. The second book, ‘The Catalography’, is an extensive full-colour guide with photos, text and track-listings.   Michael Jackson's iconic performances and costumes will be remembered for a life time. Michael Jackson kept the public interested with his over the top fashion wardrobe and luxurious lifestyle. Throughout each decade, Michael's sense of style changed, but one fashion staple stayed throughout his career, and that was the classic military jacket. It was in the 90s, when his theatrical edgy style graced the stage. Sophisticated suits became his obsession, with the addition with his his trademark armbands and other military inspired accessories. Embellished jackets became his classic uniform. Festooned with gold braiding, brass buttons, epaulets, each jacket being more elaborate than the next. The military jacket became a trend statement that lasted throughout the decades.
The glitz and glamour is credited to designers Michael Bush and Dennis Tompkins who designed most of Jackson's personal and concert tour wardrobes, which included tens of thousands of pieces, many with military details. The Personal Property of Michael Jackson was auctioned in April of 09, and was conducted by Julien’s Auctions In Los Angeles. Jackson has forever left his stamp on fashion and he will always be remembered.
